01Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the UniCalc mobile application for Android (com.uni_calc.app) and to this website. It describes how the app handles information when you use calculators, converters, and settings.

UniCalc does not require you to create an account. You can use the calculators without signing in. Almost every tool works without an internet connection.

02Data stored on your device

UniCalc is a local-first calculator. The following information is written to storage on your own device and is not transmitted to us:

• Numbers and options you type into a calculator or converter
• Recent results or history kept by a few tools (for example currency and unit converters)
• App settings: theme, preferred currency, decimal precision, and ad-privacy choice
• Cached exchange rates so the currency converter can work again offline

We operate no server that receives or stores this data. Uninstalling the app removes it from your device.

First-install currency

On first launch the app picks a default currency from your device country. It uses SIM or region information, then timezone, then language locale — locally, on the device. It does not use GPS. You can change the currency any time in Settings. An unsupported country code falls back to USD.

03What we never collect

To be explicit, UniCalc does not:

• Create an account or ask for an email, password, or phone number to use the app
• Upload your calculator inputs or results to our servers
• Read your camera, SMS, contacts, photos, or files
• Back up your data to Google Drive or any other cloud we operate
• Sell or rent your personal information to anyone

04Permissions and why the app asks

UniCalc declares a small set of Android permissions. Sensitive ones you can decline or revoke in device settings — the calculators keep working.

• Internet & network state Required INTERNET Used for the connected parts of the app: fetching currency exchange rates, serving advertisements, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and Play Store in-app update or review prompts. ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE lets the app see whether a network is available before it tries those requests. Calculator math itself does not need the network.
• Advertising ID Required AD_ID Required on Android 13+ so Google AdMob can serve ads. Without it the advertising ID is zeroed out. Your calculator inputs are not attached to this identifier. You can reset or limit ad personalisation in Android settings.
• Location Declared ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION / ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION These permissions appear in the Android manifest. UniCalc has no maps feature and does not use GPS for any calculator. First-install currency uses SIM/region, timezone, and locale — not location APIs. You can deny location access; the app still works. Advertising SDKs may derive a coarse location from IP address as described in Google’s policies, independently of these permissions.

05Currency exchange rates

The currency converter is the main first-party network feature. When you open it (or refresh rates), the app requests the latest rates from api.exchangerate-api.com over HTTPS and caches them on the device so later conversions can work offline.

That request includes the base currency you selected. It does not include other calculator inputs, your name, or an UniCalc account. Rate data is provided by a third party and may be delayed or incomplete.

06Advertising

UniCalc is free and displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may access your device's Advertising ID along with technical information such as device type, operating system version, coarse location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction events.

In the European Economic Area and other regulated regions, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) may show a consent form before personalised ads are requested. You can review that choice again from Settings when the option is offered. If consent is not granted, ads stay off rather than being personalised without permission.

This information is handled by Google as described in the Google Privacy & Terms. Your calculator inputs and results are never shared with advertisers or used to target ads. Health and fitness screens do not show banner ads.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android device. Our app-ads.txt file lists the authorised seller (pub-7913790751583361).

07Crash reports, performance, and diagnostics

To find and fix problems, UniCalc uses Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes or hits a serious error, a report is sent to Google containing technical details such as the device model, operating system version, app version, the state of the app at the time, and a stack trace.

UniCalc also uses Firebase Performance Monitoring to measure how long screens and network calls take (for example the currency-rate request). Those traces include timing and technical metadata, not the numbers you typed into a calculator.

Reports are used to diagnose stability and speed. They do not include the contents of your calculator fields.

08Third-party services

The services below are involved in specific features. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it receives.

09Data retention and deletion

Because your settings and recent values live on your device, you control how long they are kept. You can change or clear them in the app, clear data in your device's app settings, or uninstall UniCalc to remove everything it stored locally.

Cached exchange rates stay until they are refreshed or you clear app data. Diagnostic and performance reports held by Google are retained under Google's own retention schedule.

10Security

Calculator values stay on the device. Network requests the app makes — currency rates, ads, crash reports, and performance traces — use HTTPS. UniCalc does not offer cloud backup or an in-app passcode.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keeping your device locked and your operating system updated remains the most effective protection for local data.

11Children's privacy

UniCalc is a general-audience calculator and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will address it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves — for example when a feature is added or a third-party service changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be highlighted in the app or its store listing.

13Product disclaimer

UniCalc is a calculator and unit-conversion tool. It does not provide banking, tax, legal, engineering certification, or medical advice. Health tools (including BMI, calories, blood pressure, pregnancy, and child growth) and finance tools (including EMI, tax, gold, and investments) are informational only. They are not a diagnosis, a filing, or a substitute for a qualified professional.
